Addition of KILR detection reagent, containing the complementing β-gal reporter fragment, Enzyme Acceptor (EA), results in complementation of the two enzyme fragments (EA and ePL). The resulting functional enzyme hydrolyzes a substrate to generate a chemiluminescent signal.
